On this World Poetry Day, I will share a poem from my collection. It is titled
‘ I call out the men!
I call out the Men
… with a sense of urgency
I call out the men to rise up ,
Tabitha!!!! roll up your mat of despondency
To be the Men , that at this time the country needs
Be the ones with the integrity
To end mass looting and public greed
Be the men to defend humanity
From insecurity.
Save us from the divide of disunity
Men of courage …
not desirous of a bowl of porridge
But the environment to be
Master, Inventor. Creator . all that we can be
I call out the men
to see that better day
…And strive for it
Mobilize, gather the strength to drive for it
Try for it.. I say, cry for it
Men
Who want better
Men who want Greater.
and not just to
Keep the cycle of turn by turns
And so readily look away while the country burns
Have we not had enough of these kinds?
Have we not had enough of these depraved minds?
Have we not had enough of thieves , liars and cheats
Enough of the cons
and insipid dead beats?
Do we not want better than this?
Do we not want a political class
we can speak of without a hiss?
I know , we want better than these
I know we want a future greater than this
this status that we see
We believe for better
Yes, Yes, we believe that it can be.
So, I call out the men!
I call out the men!
I call out the men!
